Bright prospects for PR

Leading public relations and consultancy agency Bangkok Public Relations (Bangkok PR) believes that the industry will enjoy a 10 to 30 per cent increase in fee income, mainly as the local economy has been doing well in the first seven months.

“The overall economy is performing well. If they do well, we will do well. I see our industry having a good year across the board, including the PR industry,” Hasan Basar, managing director of Bangkok PR, said.
Basar expects Bangkok PR to have two big clients on board this year.
As there were a series of international sports events such as the Uefa Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine last month and the London 2012 Olympics Games now, the PR industry will also gain economically but not directly. For example, some of the company’s clients are sponsors in that field so they need the company to do related activities for PR. Basar said that if the Asean economic integration opens the door to more regional headquarters being located in Thailand, it would offer greater opportunities for Thai PR firms.
