Thapana follows his father's giant footsteps

As he runs the show at Thai Beverage,Thailand’s leading beverage conglomerate,Thapana Sirivadhanabhakditries to balance his role as a business professional and member ofa family-owned business.

Thapana is the third child of Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, chairman and founder of the TCC Group,which includes Thai Beverage, Berli Jucker, Southeast Insurance Group, TCC Land, TCC Capital and Plantheon.

In fact, Thapana is so in awe of his father that he has set up a person key performance index just to please him. This index goes beyond just sales and performance of the company, it also focuses on trust, confidence, satisfaction and fast response. In return, Charoen is always there

for his five children, offering them support when they need it. “My father is a simple man, who

has an open mind and is willing to listen to others,” Thapana said. “He allows me to contribute and provide strategic ideas for the company.” He said his father, wakes up at about 4am to complete his personal chores, such as praying or exercising, before starting work at 7am, which

he kicks off by calling all his children and assigning them projects for the day.

“My father and his team of executives have built a solid foundation for the company. He has a long-term vision, which is sometimes overlooked by the new generation like me,”

Thapana said. “When travelling overseas, my father always spends time examining

the market, to either see what is available or to collect samples. My father is very interested in business and always spends time understanding the market environment.”

Thapana completed his bachelor’s degree in finance and his master’s in financial economics at Boston University in the United States. He was appointed president and CEO of Thai Beverage in January 2008, after spending five years as director and executive vice president of the company.

Thai Beverage consolidated the country’s leading businesses in beer and spirits into a single holding company and was later registered on the Singapore Exchange in May 2006.

Now, Thai Beverage has four core business: spirits, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and food.

In addition to leading Thai Beverage, Thapana also holds top executive positions in firms such as Red Bull Distillery Group; Berli Jucker; Beer Thai; Dhospaak; Oishi Group; Oishi Group Public Co Ltd; Univentures Plc; Siam Food Products Plc and Southeast Group of Companies.
