The four shopping complexes wholly owned by Major Cineplex Group are Major Cineplex
Ratchayothin, Major Cineplex Pinklao, Major Cineplex Ekamai and Major Chaengwattana. Chairman Vicha Poolvaraluck said last week that the group had received enquiries
from many retailers and other fitness- club operators showing interest in leasing those spaces.
Vicha added that rental prices for retailers are higher than for fitness clubs. The prices for fitness club operators are about Bt700-Bt800 per square metre, while retailers pay more than Bt1,000 per square metre. Additionally, fitness clubs require approximately 2,500 to 3,000 square
metres, more than the space required for retailers. The company can maximise the use of such space by renting it to retailers, he added.
