Further stock rise with unlikely change in policy rate

One Asset Management Co Ltd believed that the Bank of Thailand's Monetary Policy Committee will maintain the policy rate at 3 per cent at the October 17 meeting.

Win Udomrachtavanic, CEO of the fund company, said that under this circumstance, the SET index could touch 1,320 points while gold prices this year, with massive liquidity in the financial market, could hit US$1,900 per ounce next year.
He said that while markets closely watch the US presidential election on Nov 6, excess liquidity - as a result of quantitative easing in several countries - should further drive equity markets. Volatility would be in picture and the SET index could move in the range of 1,250-1,320 points from now to the end of this year.
Gold prices could range $1,700-$1,800 per ounce in the last quarter, before rising to $1,900 in 2013 as investors seek safe haven from weakening dollar.
