Chiang Mai enjoys increasing travellers' attention
Chiang Mai is among 10 Asian destinations which have seen the greatest increase in positive traveller feedback and traveller interest, according to a survey by TripAdvisor.
The travel web site's annual survey showed that Chiang Mai is ranked the 8th in the Traveller's Choice Destinations on the Rise in Asia.
On the top 10 list include Jakarta, Kathmandu, Kolkata, Manila, Bangalore, Luang Prabang, Phnom Penh, Kobe and Osaka.
The feedback and interest is compared to the previous year.
"Interestingly, Jakarta has topped the list of Asian destinations, beating Osaka, Kathmandu, Chiang Mai and Phnom Penh to name a few,” said Jean Ow-Yeong, TripAdvisor spokesperson.
“These awards are great accolades for the cities as not only are they based on increasing traveller interest but also increasing positive feedback about the cities’ hotels, restaurants and things to do.”
Globally, the top 10 destinations on the rise are as follows:
