The Port Authority of Thailand plans to invest more than Bt5 billion in Laem Chabang Port next year.
Suthinan Hatthawong, director of the deep-sea port, said yesterday that commercial income accounted for about Bt1 billion out Bt6 billion to Bt7 billion of total revenue.
Most of its revenue comes from the concession to manage the port.
About Bt3 billion of the capital-expenditure budget will be for the seaport project and Bt2 billion for the development of freight-train transport.
Both projects would generate Bt9.7 billion in return during the 30-year period, of which Bt4 billion will come from the seaport and Bt5.7 billion from rail operations. The port also plans to spend about Bt900 million on improvements of its facilities.
