Energy promises no fuel shortage

The platform was closed following the crude oil leak last weekend. At present, the two refineries of PTT Global Chemical and Star Petroleum rely on crude oil from this platform. They operate with annual refining capacity of 145,000 barrels and 150,000 barrels per day. Both could operate without new supplies thanks to reserves which will last in 18 days. Some working stock is also in place, Pongsak said.

He noted that both refineries will be allowed to use their legal oil reserves during the period. 

Meanwhile, PTT also insisted that it would assure sufficient supply of crude oil.
