“The scale and focus of the event on digital media, which includes a showcase of a large number of technologies applicable to our media industry, were what attracted our attention,” said Pana Janviroj, president of Nation Multimedia Group and executive director of the ANN.
The fair is organised by ETPL (Exploit Technologies), the technology-transfer arm of Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). In its third year, the event will feature home-grown technologies and commercial solutions from across the A*STAR ecosystem, as well as from other institutes of higher learning such as the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University, also in the island republic.
“Ringing in technologies from our partner institutes will provide our audience, both local and overseas, with an even wider choice of selection,” said Philip Lim, chief executive of ETPL. “With the presence of key Asia News Network members, and boasting a growing digital-media-technology showcase, we hope to attract both media solution seekers and solution providers to the event.”
The event will also showcase ETPL’s efforts in fostering an ecosystem for the commercialisation of digital media technologies. The growing capabilities of digital media present both media and advertisers with unprecedented opportunities to allow them to better connect and engage with its consumers.
Partners and start-ups will also unveil a variety of new applications and solutions in areas ranging from image manipulation detection and video streaming to online shopping and multilingual chatting.
