Toyota launches 'Eco-Dealership' programme

About 29 dealers of Toyota Motor Thailand have applied to join the "Eco-Dealership Outlet" programme, launched to promote environmentally friendly criteria that can be adopted at Toyota service centres.

Vichien Emprasertsuk, executive vice president of TMT, said it was the company’s policy to have all 374 dealers take part in the programme.
Toyota has already won the Thai Green Building Institute’s “TREES” certificate for construction of its Toyota Nakhon Ratchasima (Thai Yen) plant in Pak Chong. It is the first building to win the TREES certificate, which stands for “Thai’s Rating of Energy and Environmental Sustainability”.
Based on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system developed in the United States, TREES complements a range of rating systems in use today in many countries. Japan, Australia, India and Vietnam also have their own systems. Thirty per cent of TREES criteria come from LEED, with the remainder modified to fit Thailand’s socio-economic environment. It focuses on two main criteria – energy efficiency and ecology.
