CBP World teams up with S Korea's Pharvis to launch health products

CBP World, a Thai multilevel marketing firm, has joined forces with South Korea-based Pharvis Life to launch the latter's Retona Supalim line of health food and supplements in Thailand, aiming to generate over Bt5 billion next year.

“Entering into the health food and supplements business is our big step to mark the company’s 28th anniversary,” said CBP World president and chief executive officer Jongsanguan Lertthanasarn at a press conference in Seoul on Tuesday.
CBP World has been an importer of mineral-water filters, cosmetics, livestock feed and agricultural machinery from South Korea since 1986. Most revenue is from sales of mineral-water filters via multilevel marketing. Currently, the company has about 100,000 individual business partners.
Amid a rise in health concerns among consumers, Jongsanguan said the company decided to join hands with Pharvis Life, a South Korea-based manufacturer and distributor of quality health foods and supplements, to add food supplements to its product portfolio.
Under the Retona Supalim product line, in the first phase, the company will introduce five series of products. Next year, four more series will be launched. Retona Supalim helps relieve metabolic syndrome and restore the body’s chemical balance.
Pharvis Life president Sunny Kim said Thailand was the third overseas market for the company, after Japan and the US. It also sells this product domestically.
Kim added that in Japan, the US and in South Korea, the company promotes this product under the Anyone brand, while to the Thai market it will be known as Retona Supalim in order to differen-tiate the product. He hopes to be able to use Thailand as a hub to distribute the products via CBP World representatives in Southeast Asian countries.
By the end of next year, CBP World aims to have about 5,000 new sales reps, and to generate at least Bt5.18 billion in revenue. It has earmarked about Bt100 million for marketing campaigns via online media.
The company produces a reality show on its website. Viewers are able to watch this show via personal computer or smart phone, connected to the Internet. The show demonstrates the results achieved by Retona Supalim users. The company will use this online reality show to engage with target customers and potential sales representatives.
By end of this year, with the exception of sales of Retona Supalim, the company expects to achieve about Bt200 million in revenue, mainly from sales of mineral-water filters.
