Board for SME stocks may launch in Q4

The Securities and Exchange Commission is drawing up criteria for a new board for trading stocks in small and medium-sized enterprises, said SEC secretary-general Vorapol Socatiyanurak.
The board is expected to be launched next quarter, and Vorapol said up to 3,000 SMEs would have the potential to join it.
He said only institutional investors and those with the capability to trade with cash would be allowed to buy SME stocks.

TMB stake may go
Finance Minister Sommai Phasee says the ministry would consider selling its stake in TMB Bank if there were investors interested in buying it.
He said the ministry did not have a policy to keep shares that were not within its main purview and recently it had sold many shares in smaller banks.
“The shares at TMB are harder to let go because it is a big bank, but the policy that says we have to keep the shares has never been spoken by anybody, and I am not going to say that we have to keep it,” he said.
The ministry holds a 26-per-cent stake in TMB.
