Billy Ogan, a former well-known singer, clarified on his Facebook page last week that he had indeed been declared bankrupt by court, after many people had expressed surprise about the news. While expressing his thanks to many people who worried about him and some who have offered him help in his bad times, Billy said the cause of the bankruptcy was miscalculations in his real estate business investments.
Billy said he is now keen to produce a TV programme but … “a digital TV channel that used to contact me has become silent, as I have no money”.
And in a move cited by some media as his attempt to “turn crisis into opportunity”, Billy told his fan page that he was going to compose a song dubbed “Lom La Lai” (bankruptcy), based on hise experience.
According to law, a person who declares bankruptcy is required to hand over all his earnings to his creditors for three years. Wouldn’t it be a wiser idea if Billy’s creditors help organise a concert for him so that they get back their money and Billy is able to make an early exit from bankruptcy?
