SET in the City celebrating 10th anniversary

This year’s activities and attractions will be comprehensive and different from previous events. Participants will take home financial plans that can fulfil their lifestyle and can pave the way for a clearer life plan. 

Newcomers can step through the door to obtain information and advice on diversified products in the capital market. They will also learn how to make investment plans for their lives and can visualise themselves clearly as a “quality investor in the future”. SET in the City will be held from November 20-23 at Siam Paragon.

Noppakao Sucharitakul, a senior vice president of the SET, said the SET is committed to promoting saving and investing so that Thailand will finally become a savings and investment society. 

“It has to start from the smallest unit, which is each individual’s habit and discipline. We started from providing integrated financial education, knowledge and expertise on saving and investment via consultation, advice, training programmes, events and activities. 

“At present there are various online courses and training programmes popular among the young generation. Year by year, SET in the City continues to create new ideas and viewpoints, with world-class updated information, exchanging and sharing in the various seminars during the event. 

Participation is by the SET’s members, partners and alliances in the capital market, ranging from financial institutions, listed companies, securities companies, asset management companies and insurance companies to associations with teams of experts to provide information, suggestions and answers for investors.

This year there will be a variety of activities with an emphasis on a special process for participants to concentrate and transform their mindset in investment and see themselves as investors.

Invite participants to look backward and then forward to the upcoming investment period, leading towards investment opportunities. This will reflect not only the capital market but also yourself in the near future. This will be held at “the Next Opportunity Stage” for a full four days. 

Join seminars with “legendary figures” and listen to the ways to successful investment with one-of-a-kind point of view from living legends, analysts and financial gurus, and fulfil your every investment plan.

 

Next change 

Take participants to the big transition. Find out every experience in the stock market to create transition opportunities to the next decade of investment. Discover the “financial planning lane”, a fast track where investors start their investment plans for their lives. 

Participants will also experience the Interactive Settrade Streaming Demo, a programme that gives a step-by-step introduction to online investment. For online enthusiasts, SET Your Digital Style, a zone offering online information including an online trading programme, is also available at the event.

At the time of the first one-stop investment expo in 2002, the SET had only 240,000 investor accounts and 680,000 unit-holder accounts. The figures have increased to 1 million investor accounts and 4 million unit-holder accounts. To-date there has been 1 million participants and there has been awareness of the expo from widespread publicity, resulting in over 100,000 investment transactions from this event.
