Chief executive officer Nath Vongphanich said yesterday that the company wanted to increase the proportion of franchised stores from 10 per cent, or 169 of all stores being operated currently, to about 20 per cent in the period.
“We believe that the competition among convenience-store players will be tough and everyone will focus on developing campaigns and new innovative products to win the competition.
“We plan to bring ready-to-eat products from Japan and adjust them to suit the lifestyles of local consumers. We will add a new zone so that customers can sit and eat at the store. We will also develop our own house brands to sell at our stores,” he said. FamilyMart is joining forces with The 1 Card to deliver extra benefits to all cardholders.
Starting this month, cardholders can redeem The 1 Card points for free food, beverages and various products at all FamilyMarts 24 hours a day.
This is the first time for The 1 Card to collaborate with a convenience-store chain. Not only has the move enhanced the marketing activities of both firms, it has also deepened synergy among the business units under Central Group’s umbrella.
FamilyMart’s customers will enjoy a variety of benefits and value-for-money shopping.
