Sanvo engages star power in move to boost sales of sports drink

A NEW Sanvo campaign starring Jesadaporn "Tik" Pholdee and Buakaw is poised to spur sales.

Sanvo Sport Drink signed heartthrob Tik and superstar boxer Buakaw to endorse the brand.
It also deployed an additional sales force, widened its distribution channels and launched full-scale marketing activities with the aim to increasing the drink’s sales by 20 per cent in 2015.
Nuttawit Kanthasakul, channel manager of Sanvo at the Singha Corporation, said: “We aim to dramatically boost sales of Sanvo Sport Drink in 2015. The sports drink now comprises three flavours – mixed fruit, mixed berry and the newly launched blue punch, which has been well received by Thai consumers.
“The 2015 marketing strategy also includes proactively expanding distribution channels in smaller retail stores, which is a key to reaching targeted consumers. We have also added over 800 staff to our sales team to expand our retail and wholesale networks nationwide.”

Comprehensive campaign
Nuttawit said a comprehensive marketing communication campaign was being utilised and encompassed print, radio, TVC and especially social media, an increasingly influential channel to reach consumers.
The sports drink market in Thailand in 2015 is expected to grow 8 per cent, with a total market value of Bt4.5 billion. The competition in the market is becoming more dynamic as new players enter, leading to more variety in marketing activities.
