Revenue Department Director-General Prasong Poontaneat said that the meeting will take place on May 26.
The department also mulls a thorough check on some businesses which may not have booked their accounts correctly - like restaurants in shopping malls and construction materials businesses.
Prasong noted that the department did not aim to impose retroactive taxes on these businesses, but to ensure accurate bookkeeping.
He revealed today that the government revenue may fall short of target by Bt140 billion for this fiscal year.
After a meeting with revenue officers nationwide today, he said that low oil prices and slowing economic recovery will result in lower-than-expected revenue collection, particularly from oil-related businesses. Revenue from the sector alone would be about Bt100 billion lower than expected. Meanwhile, corporate tax should also be about Bt40 billion below target in line with economic condition.
