BCP unlikely in Finance Ministry's sell-off plan

Bangchak Petroleum President Chaiwat Kovavisarach believed that the Finance Ministry will not unload shares in his company, as part of the plan to tackle public debts worth Bt726 billion.

The plan calls for the issuance of bonds and sale of shares in private companies.
The Finance Ministry last week assured that the share sale would not affect listed companies.
Chaiwat is convinced that the ministry's targets are more likely the companies which were rescued by the government years ago, like TMB Bank. It may also sell shares in some companies, like Boon Rawd Brewery, which have been held for years.
BCP share price today rose 0.77 per cent to Bt32.75.
