Under Armour opens Bangkok store

UNDER ARMOUR, a US-based developer and manufacturer of performance footwear and apparel, officially opened in Thailand yesterday at Siam Center in Bangkok.

The store is the brand’s 10th in Southeast Asian, adding to those in Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, through a joint venture between exclusive distributor Triple Private and Sport Rev Co. 
“The passion for sports and fitness continues to grow in Thailand,” said Michael Binger, chief executive officer and co-founder of Triple Private. 
“We look forward to building a big presence in the future.”
 Located on the first floor of Siam Center and |with more than 200 square metres of retail space, |the store features a “provocative experiential” |concept. 
Once the customer steps into the store, he or she will fully experience what it means to be an athlete, and will feel the spirit of the Under Armour brand, the company claims. Wooden interiors, steel walls and bolts exude an industrial and gym-like atmosphere for customers, while other store elements, such as the iconic free-standing brand logo, reflect the high energy of Under Armour, it says.
 Offering a wide range of sporting apparel for both men and women, the store features the newest UA apparel technology such as HeatGear, Sonic, HeatGear, Flyweight, Coldblack, UA Tech and Compression. 
The brand’s latest footwear innovations, such as the Clutchfit and Speedform technology platforms, will also be available. 
The Under Armour Golf Collection features the brand’s Coldblack technology that protects the skin by reflecting infrared rays to keep athletes cool under the sun.
The local e-commerce site www.underarmour.co.th has been made available to Thai consumers since April.
