Korea's YDM Group acquires majority stake in Computerlogy

SOUTH KOREA'S Yello Digital Marketing (YDM) Group yesterday announced its acquisition of a majority stake in Thai tech start-up Computerlogy.

The acquisition is aimed at making Computerlogy the top provider of social-media marketing solutions in Southeast Asia.
Computerlogy is a developer of social-media analytic tools and one of the first Thai companies to receive the “Facebook Marketing Partner” badge.
YDM chief executive officer Sang Seok Lee said that by joining with Computerlogy, his group would solidify its data-analysis capability and lead the social-media advertising market in Asia through synergies among family companies.
Computerlogy has grown to be a “big data” specialist and technology-based company providing total social-media solutions to support online marketing strategies by gathering and analysing social data, and turning them into business insights.
Vachara Aemavat, its CEO, said being part of YDM would help Computerlogy become the regional leader in social-media marketing platforms, as it would be able to establish a technology research and development centre to introduce new products to the market.
“Because of the rapid changes in advertising technology, it is challenging to develop products and services that can readily serve customers’ needs. Leading the market with innovation, products and services and a strong sales strategy are the keys to success for our company. We intend to provide the most effective and valuable tools for marketers to support their advertising strategies.”
YDM is part of Korea’s Yello Mobile group, which comprises more than 70 companies specialising in five major business sectors: shopping, media and content, advertising and digital marketing, travel, and online-to-offline services.
YDM currently holds strong alliances with 22 entrepreneur-driven companies throughout Southeast Asia including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and more to come.
The company has more than 1,700 employees providing services to more than 5,000 clients.
