Singapore-based Puma Energy Group has won the bid to import and distribute jet fuel to airlines at Yangon International Airport.
The three other shortlisted companies were PTT and Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services from Thailand and Singapore Petroleum. A total of 23 companies applied for the licence with the Energy Ministry. PTT was the runner-up.
A source at the Myanmar Investment Commission said recently that the agency on September 11 issued a temporary permit to National Energy Puma Aviation Services Co, a joint venture of Puma Energy Group and state-owned Myanmar Petroleum Products Enterprise Puma Energy. The company’s business will be later extended to cover the Defence Ministry’s airbase.
