NOK AIR PROMISES PROBLEM-FREE RETURN TO OPERATIONS

Nok Air says there will be no more problems once it gets back up to speed.
That assurance was delivered yesterday by Patee Sarasin, chief executive officer of the budget airline.
In a statement to all customers, Nok Air apologised for the inconvenience caused by flight cancellations since February 14, when a group of pilots went on strike. A week later, at least 17 pilots resigned from the airline.
The airline said it was solving its internal problems and seeking more pilots and should return to full operations soon.
According to the statement, the airline is planning to extend its cooperation with European airlines and will improve airline’s standards to meet those of the European Aviation Safety Agency.
Meanwhile, the website www.donmeungairportthai.com reported that the airline cancelled 61 flights scheduled to depart from or arrive at Don Mueang Airport on Friday. An airline official said these cancellation plans had been announced earlier.

CARABAO GROUP CFO IN US DISCUSSING GROWTH PLANS
Pongsan Klongwathanakith, chief financial officer of Carabao Group, is in the United States meeting with global investors.
The purpose of Pongsan’s meetings with portfolio managers and analysts at investment firms is to share details of Carabao Group’s plans for a global expansion after the company’s success in achieving No 2 market share in the energy/sports-drink segment in Thailand.
One specific topic of discussion is Carabao Group’s sponsorship of Britain’s Chelsea Football Club beginning next month. The group anticipates the partnership serving as an important brand-awareness tool in Europe and an important component in tapping what the company sees as significant potential in Europe and the Americas.
Pongsan is being hosted in the US by Decker & Co, an institutional equities broker with an Asia office in Bangkok.
“Investors with an interest in growth companies generally and food and beverage companies specifically are interested in expansion stories such as Carabao Group’s,” said Mark Decker, founder and president of Decker & Co.
“Furthermore, Carabao offers exposure to the Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam area that investors may find especially intriguing. We are honoured to host Pongsan Klongwathanakith in the US.”
Pongsan was to follow meetings in New York with visits to additional cities on the US east coast before travelling west with stops in the central US and completing the trip in California yesterday.
In addition to details of Carabao’s international expansion, Pongsan was to discuss the firm’s domestic strategy, which includes additional distribution channels via cash vans, third-party distribution, and a new bottled-water product.
