Songkran to draw 2.1m visitors
A number of 2.1 million foreign visitors are expected to arrive in Thailand during April 13-17, when the Kingdom celebrates the traditional Thai New Year or Songkran.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the number represented a 2.1 per cent increase from last year. Chinese tourists will constitute the largest chunk of arrivals.
The tourist spending during the period is expected to increase by 3.5 per cent from last year to Bt6.9 billion.
