SCB's president resigns

Yol Phokasub, the president of Siam Commercial Bank, has unexpectedly tendered his resignation. The bank said in a filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand today that the board approved his resignation which would take effect on July 1.

Yol joined SCB in 2007.
SCB said in a statement that Yol considered it the right time to leverage his knowledge and experience and follow his personal and family's interests.
He will remain as an SCB director and a member of the executive board, the bank said.
Late 2014, the bank announced a 2-man leadership initiative. With effect from April 3, 2015, Arthid Nanthawithaya became deputy chairman of the executive committee and chief executive officer, and Yol took the presidency.
Arthid and Yol have extensive experience in wholesale and retail businesses respectively.
At the press conference in November 2014, Yol said working seamlessly was important. Banking today has many challenges, so everyone at the bank must look to the same goals, the same culture and the same mindset.
The bank's share price slightly advanced by 1.17 per cent to Bt129.50 as of 4.36pm.
