KTC draws up plan to woo young users to ride the digital trend

KTC has come up with a long-term plan to ride the growing digital trend.

In response to the government’s national e-payment system, the firm has prepared to facilitate the PromptPay as well as the E-Tax system. 
“We have already been in the E-filing system of the Revenue Department. We are now on the way to cooperating with the department with regard to the E-Tax system, which is expected to start in January 2018,” Chutidej Chayuti, KTC senior executive vice president for corporate finance, said recently
KTC executive vice president for Personal Loans Business Sudaporn Janwatanagool said that cardholders were welcome to withdraw cash via “TapKTC” mobile application or the KTC website to enable them to live their digital lifestyle.
KTC senior executive vice president for products and distribution Piyasak Tejasen said his firm aimed to reach out to more young adults who had just started working, as well as office employees in Bangkok and other big cities in the coming year. 
“We recognise that the new generation is increasingly conducting transactions online. To provide them greater convenience, KTC will expand online channels to receive applications both for credit cards and personal loans,” he said. 
Such an expansion could be made via business partners such as Silkspan, Interspace, and Masli. 
Piyasak disclosed that KTC had set its sights on attracting 560,000 more credit-card holders and 160,000 more personal loanees next year. 
KTC president and chief executive officer Rathian Srimongkol said his firm hoped to boost profits by at least 10 per cent in 2017.
During the past nine months, KTC recorded a net profit of Bt1.854 billion.
“Our 2017 business plan will focus on being customers’ favourite brand. Key elements of this plan are: be courageous, smart and simple, and meaningful,” Rathian said. 
He said the KTC plan would encourage people to have the courage to live the life they wanted so that their life was meaningful. 
KTC executive vice president for the Synergy Business Pittaya Vorapanyasakul said her firm expected Bt190 billion in total spending by KTC cardholders next year. 
“We have regularly introduced interesting campaigns, through collaborations with various business partners,” she said. 
She added that KTC World Travel Services were also available for customers looking for good domestic and overseas travel deals.
