PH Capital, or PHC, is a 70:30 joint venture established by Thoresen Thai Agencies (TTA) and PM Capital, which is 100-per-cent owned by TTA director Ausana Mahagitsiri, and has extensive expertise and experience in the management of global food and beverage brands.
PHC will start operating all 92 Pizza Huts under the supervision of Pizza Hut by next quarter.
Vorawan Phianlikhitwong, general manager of Pizza Hut Thailand, said yesterday that the decision to partner PHC would enable Pizza Hut to grow rapidly.
PHC would renovate the existing Pizza Hut outlets to add a modern touch, as well as seats and home delivery service, and open more than 100 restaurants in Thailand.
Chalermchai Mahagitsiri, president and chief executive officer of TTA, said TTA is a holding company that invests in a wide range of businesses to achieve diversification.
It sees the food business as a fast-growing, low-volatility business.
Pizza Hut Thailand is an affiliate of Yum! Brands based in Louisville, Kentucky in the US.
Yum! Brands manages the world famous KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands with more than 43,500 restaurants in over 135 countries and territories.
According to TTA’s filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand yesterday, TTA’s board on February 3 resolved for PHC to enter into the asset sale and purchase deal to acquire the Pizza Hut business in Thailand from Yum Restaurants International (Thailand) Co, which – before this PHC deal – operated the Pizza Hut business for Yum Brands in Thailand.
