Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn Bank will set up 550,000 electronic-data-capture (EDC) systems nationwide under a consultium for an e-payment project won through a bid organised by the Finance Ministry.

The project is targeting the public and private sectors including shopping outlets with a slated completion date of March 2018.
It is part of developing the country’s national e-payment network, Bangkok Bank president Chartsiri Sophonpanich said in a press release on Monday.
Under the contract, there will be a merchant discount rate of not more than 0.55 per cent per time.
EDC is the electronic acquisition of clinical study data.
