Countryman expected to boost Mini sales

Millennium Auto, Thailand’s largest BMW and Mini dealership, plans to stage a nationwide road show and set a new sales record for Mini vehicles this year thanks to the launch of the new Countryman model.

Following a successful stint at the recent Bangkok Motor Show, said Somprach Bosuwan, deputy managing director for sales and marketing, the company’s next push will be a tour covering the capital and the provinces, starting at Siam Paragon tomorrow (April 20) and continuing through April 30.
“Apart from growing BMW sales this year, we are confident that Mini sales will also rise,” he said. “This year we expect to set a new sales record due to a wider product range as well as the introduction of the locally assembled Countryman with its affordable pricing making it more attractive for people with limited funds.”
The Countryman was unveiled at last month’s Bangkok Motor Show. Price ranges from Bt2.399 million to Bt2.999 million.
Millennium Auto has scheduled BMW customer events in Mukdahan, Hat Yai, Songkhla and Surat Thani.
Arun Samutsara, deputy managing director for after-sales, said the dealership can service 45,000 vehicles a year.
“Our Mini showroom in Ekamai is also being improved and will be able to serve 1,500 vehicles per month, up from the current 900,” he said, adding that the showroom will conduct a rainy-season campaign with gifts and discounts on parts.
