Consultancy Great Place to Work's annual study of Asia's workplaces reveals that employees at the 60 best workplaces indicate that managers behaving in a respectful way is the most significant factor in employee retention.
In announcing the results of the study, Great Place to Work CEO Michael Bush said: "Being on the list is more than being recognized as a great place to work. A high-trust culture helps you attract people, improves your performance, retains your top talent, fosters innovation, and assures a sustainable business. Bottom line, a great place to work for all is better for business, because you're developing the full human potential of everyone on your team."
To help companies in Asia get a better understanding of how to improve, Great Place to Work launched the Best Workplaces in Asia Report 2017, The Importance of Trust, which includes the data from this year's regional list, and analysis on which behaviours motivate employees the most.
“Our 30 years of research shows that it is not perks and benefits that will get employees up every morning 'fired up' to go to work and contribute fully, it is the quality of the relationships that they have with their managers, peers, and job,” Bush said.
