The five-day “Thai Trade Exhibition Oman” held this month attracted more than 22,000 visitors, with more than Bt1 billion being circulated, according to organiser Vega Intertrade and Exhibition Co.
This was the second Thai trade exhibition to be held in Oman, with the goal of strengthening trade and investment cooperation, as well as creating a network for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, of both countries.
“Oman is a high-potential market for Thailand and with its strong relationship with the East African region and Iran, it is suitable for being a hub that connects the Asean nations with countries in this region,” said Jessada Katawetin, the Thai ambassador to Muscat.
In 2015, trade between Thailand and Oman exceeded US$1.2 billion (Bt41.3 billion), and the two countries have a common target of tripling trade value by 2020.
