SET FIRMS SECOND HIGHEST IN DEBT-TO-EQUITY RATIO

Listed companies on Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) had a debt-to-equity ratio 1.28 times in the first quarter of this year , the second highest in Asean after their counterparts in The Philippines with 1.50 times in the same period, according to a SET report. 
Listed companies in Indonesia had a debt-to-equity ratio 1.12 times, Malaysia 1.01 times, and Singapore 0.82 times in the first quarter. 

TCG SURE OF HITTING
LOAN GUARANTEE TARGET 

Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) has succeeded in guaranteeing loans worth a total of Bt29.59 billion for 39,771 customers in the first half of this year.
TCG is confident that it could reach the target of Bt86 billion or 67,419 customers by the end of this year by focusing on small and medium enterprises and cooperation with state and commercial banks, TCG's president Nitid Manoonporn said at press conference yesterday. 

MINISTRY GEARS FOR GLUT
OF LONGAN NEXT MONTH 

In prepartaion for the glut of longan in the upcoming harvest season, especially in August, the Commerce Ministry has joined forces with modern trade and department stores to purchase the fruit for sales through 2,800 outlets nationwide. It is also selling longan on an e-commerce platform. 
Moreover, more than 300 community markets, central markets, and farm outlets will help distribute longan directly to consumers, while the ministry is seeking to expand the export market to China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and neighbouring countries. Indonesia has recently allowed large importers to order longan from Thailand.
