The 270-room upscale hotel is slated for completion next year and will be managed by Bangkok-based Kosmopolitan Hospitality.
Ramada Plaza Chaofah will be part of the larger Muang Chaofah development, an “urban entertainment centre” with movie theatres, a conference centre and retail outlets.
The location is close to Peranakan district, putting both Old Phuket Town and the Phuket Mining Museum within walking distance.
Wyndham said guests would find a blend of modernity and tradition, with contemporary furnishings decorated with Peranakan porcelain and batik prints.
The food-and-beverage concept extends to the Thai-Nyonya cuisine for which Peranakan is known, offered at an all-day-dining outlet and rooftop restaurant.
The grand ballroom will be able to accommodate up to 700 guests and a range of fitness facilities will also be available.
