Tesco Lotus has invested in expansion in Thailand by opening 30 new branches at major and secondary cities since February.

The expansion had created almost 1,000 jobs, said Tesco Lotus CEO John Christy.

Five megastores were opened in Buriram, Uthai Thani, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Sawan and Sa Kaew, in addition to 25 Tesco Lotus Express convenience stores countrywide, said the company in a press release.

“We are confident in the Thai economy and by opening new branches, we are not only making it easier for customers to gain access to quality products at low prices, but also creating almost 1,000 jobs for the local communities, and increasing sales opportunities for local companies and farmers,” he said.
