BENEFITING from a 20 per cent expansion in the e-commerce market, SCG Express is seeing continuous growth in express parcel delivery. And now it is entering into a partnership with the giant conglomerate “PTT” to open SCG Express Service Agent at 18 “FIT Auto” automotive service centre branches at PTT gasoline stations around Bangkok and the East.

The company is confident that its easy-access service channel can meet the needs and lifestyles of a new generation of consumers who want speed and convenience.
To that end, it will continue its current strategy to work with leading partners with strategic locations until SCG reaches its target of 300 service branches.
The latest service coverage has already expanded to the East and the company has planned to expand this September to the West and Central regions. SCG hopes to expand by year-end to major cities in all regions across the country and has set itself a target to deliver one million parcels in 2017 and open 300 branches. By mid-2018, the country aims to cover all of the country.
Yoji Hamanishi, managing director of SCG Yamato Express, said this year’s business plan the business plan had focused on two areas: building awareness of the company’s strength in quality services and modern parcel management system, and being the only operator in the market offering innovative temperature-controlled parcel delivery service.
Four SCG Service Points have now opened in Bang Sue, Ratchadapisek, Rangsit and Banthad Thong. Some 110 SCG Express Service Agents are already in place in Bangkok and vicinities as well as the East of Thailand.
The growing e-commerce market, worth more than 2.5 trillion baht, portends a great future for the company, said Hamanishi.
The partnership with Thailand’s leading gasoline station chain, brings it all together, he said.
“A survey among e-commerce business operators and general consumers reveals that drop-off facilities are a factor that affects decision on selecting a provider of express parcel delivery, as consumers expect quick, convenient drop-off locations complete with parking and other facilities.
“PTT has the integrated services to serve the lifestyle of new generation of consumers … who come to use services at the PTT gasoline stations,” said Hamanishi.
For its part, express parcel delivery is a natural fit for PTT Public Co Ltd, said Buranin Rattanasombat, assistant managing director for lubricating business of PTT.
“PTT has a plan to develop FIT Auto to have the service coverage across the country with a target to expand more than 100 branches within five years. … The company believes that the opening of parcel delivery service agent in FIT Auto will enhance the strength of PTT and bring the variety of services to serve the lifestyle of consumers.”
