Hardware maker DRT counting on post-monsoon building boom

Diamond Building Products (DRT) expects the hardware market to recover during the year-end period.
DRT managing director Sathit Sudbanthad noted this week that a large number of homeowners and shop owners have begun carrying out repairs as the rainy season draws to a close. 
Their spending is expected to help the market recover during the last two months of the year.
Sathit said the market should be in a better position compared to Q3, which is always low season for the trade as rain slows construction.
“However, we expect less rainfall after October, and this is when many homeowners and shop owners start to renovate their premises,” he said.
Sathit added that the economy is also expected to recover during the year-end period, with positive signals from government projects.
“This has boosted the real estate business, with additional investments being made, while exports are growing as well, leading to a boost in the trade and investment sectors,” he said.
