BID FOR HIGHER RANKING 

The Cabinet yesterday approved the guidelines and plans to boost state agencies' work efficiency in an effort to lift Thailand to the second spot among Asean nations in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business rankings. 

In the World Bank's latest assessment, Thailand was ranked 26th among 190 countries worldwide and came third after Singapore and Malaysia among Asean countries.
Kobsak Pootrakool, vice minister at the Prime Minister Office, said that 11 guidelines ranging from e-Registration, permission of construction, solutions to bankruptcy, e-Payment for taxes, e-Filing to loan extension were approved
Plans for consumer protection, international trade, agreement enforcement and solutions to bankruptcy and state procurement are required to be implemented before May 2018. 
The World Bank will announce its Ease of Doing Business 2019 in October next year.
