Confidence drops from agriculture, tourist dips
The Consumer Confidence index for October 2018 recorded 48.0, a drop from the previous month’s 48.4, due to the decline in agricultural prices and Chinese tourist visits, according to Thai Chamber of Commerce University reports yesterday.
Meanwhile, the trade war between the US and China began impacting the Thai economy, and reverberated through consumer confidence in October, the research said.
However, the research suggested a confidence recovery is just around the corner in November and December, after the government’s stimulus package targeted both months.
