PTT postpones shareholders meeting to contain spread of Covid-19

PTT has postponed its 2020 annual shareholders meeting to contain the spread of Covid-19 until the situation normalises, while its board of directors has approved an interim dividend instead of an annual one from the company's profits as of December 31, 2019, at the rate of Bt1.10 per share, president and chief executive officer Chansin Treenuchagron said today (March 30).

“After the government announced an emergency decree on March 25, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration announced the temporary closure of some premises on March 27 and asked people to reconsider the need to organise activities that draw a large number of people, the company has been monitoring the situation closely,” he said.
“Therefore, the company will postpone its 2020 annual shareholders meeting on April 10 this year at Bangkok Convention Centre at Central Plaza Lad Prao.”
He said the board of directors would pay interim dividend from profits as of December 31, 2019, at the rate of Bt1.10 per share.
“When combined with the interim dividend in the first half of 2019 that the board approved on September 27 last year at the rate of Bt0.90 per share, the dividend from the company’s profits in 2019 will be Bt2.00 per share,” he explained.
“Therefore, the board of directors will not propose to pay dividend of 2019 again.”
He added that after the Covid-19 situation normalises, the board will officially inform shareholders about the revised date, time and place of the annual shareholders meeting.
“PTT would like to apologise to all shareholders for the sudden and indefinite postponement. The company is encouraging everyone to overcome this crisis together,” he added.
