Jaspal awards scholarships to fashion design students from 5 universities  through Jaspal Scholarship Program

Incubating next-generation designers with Thailand’s first comprehensive support of scholarship and mentorship program

Bangkok, August 30, 2022 — Jaspal Co., Ltd. recently held its Scholarship Award Ceremony to grant scholarships to 6 fashion design students from leading universities through its “Jaspal Scholarship Program”. The program provided each student with a tuition fee of 200,000 Baht, which amounted to a total of 1,200,000 Baht, and a one-year internship with professional designers of popular brands in the Jaspal Group, under its “Jaspal Designer Mentorship Program.”

The program aims to give young designers a chance to shine through its full support consisting of financial funds for their institutional education and the opportunity to work closely with professional designers. The scholarship is designed to help promising students build successful careers. Thailand’s first young designer incubation project, the program set a new standard for the Thai fashion design industry, giving aspiring fashion designers a career boost while creating a strong network of support to drive sustainable growth for the Thai fashion industry. 

The program offered a one-year scholarship and an internship program with Jaspal designers to the following six students: 
1.    Soythida Sudaruk, College of Design – Fashion Design, Rangsit University 
2.    Nutnicha Thamwarin, Faculty of Decorative Arts – Fashion Design, Silpakorn University 
3.    Prapaporn Titisottiku, Faculty of Decorative Arts – Fashion Design, Silpakorn University 
4.    Nontapat Seesorossakul, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts – Fashion and Textile, Chulalongkorn University 
5.    Hathaichat Ongkasing, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts — Textile and Fashion Design, Thammasat University 
6.    Settawud Boonlap, School of Fine and Applied Arts – Fashion Design, Bangkok University

During the ceremony, one of the Jaspal Scholarship Program winners Miss Hathaichat Ongkasing, a student at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts — Textile and Fashion Design, Thammasat University, said “I feel proud and honored to be granted the scholarship from Jaspal. It is very exciting to earn a chance to work with top designers from a recognized fashion company. I look forward to learning how to successfully build a fashion brand and create a collection with a team of design professionals.”
Mr. Settawud Boonlap, a student at the School of Fine and Applied Arts – Fashion Design, Bangkok University, expressed his gratitude to the Thai fashion giant for initiating Thailand’s first full support program for fashion design students. “I would like to extend my thanks to Jaspal for building a supportive platform that allows fashion design students to reach their true potential. Jaspal Scholarship Program paves the way for young designers to build a career. I hope for more programs like this in the future.”

We believe they have what it takes to become great future designers. The Jaspal Scholarship Program was designed to prepare young designers to apply what they learned from classes to real-life work in the fashion industry. Apart from the scholarship, we also offer a one-year mentorship program upon graduation. During this period, the fresh graduates will be mentored by Jaspal’s group designers and gain hands-on experience in the fashion field, from creating a mood board to building a collection. This will allow them to thoroughly understand the elements of working in the fashion business and work their way toward becoming a driving force in the fashion community.”
