Democrat lambastes at Thaksin over push for defence ministry act amendment

The Democrat Party Tuesday accused former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra of ignoring the plights of flood victims.

Jehaming Tohtayong, Democrat’s shadow deputy interior minister, said Thaksin was bent on seeking to amend the Defence Ministry Administrative Act without paying attention to flood victims.
Jehaming said Thaksin continued to give interview to foreign media about his firms stand to seek the amendment despite the flood crisis in Thailand.
“Thasksin must stop that role and pay attention to the plight of people affected by floods,” Jehaming said.
“His interview showed that he ignored the plights of the people. The amendment will be done for his own interest while the country needs unity.
“Has Thakis given an idea how to tackle the crisis. So far, I’ve heard he donated only Bt1 million to flood victims.”
