A big amount of water is thus now racing through the capital, and pumps are working hard to ensure the water be pushed out fast enough to prevent nearby areas from inundation.
“The run-off water comes from the Nava Nakorn Industrial Estate and the Thammasat University’s Rangsit Campus,” Flood Relief Operations Centre (FROC) director Pol General Pracha Promnok said.
He pointed out that the run-off water was flowing from the waterworks canal or the canal used by the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MEA) for tapwater production to the Samsen Canal.
“From there, we are pumping water to the Chao Phraya River,” he said.
