1,000 good-behaviour inmates deployed to fight flooding

About 1,000 good-behaviour inmates from the Klong Prem Central Prison have been deployed to help fixing a waterworks canal embankment, the corrections director-general said Tuesday.

Pol Col Suchart Wongananchai, the director-general of the Corrections Department, said the inmates were sent to help the Public Works and Town and Country Planning Department repair 4-kilometre-long embankment of the Waterworks Canal in Ban Nawong area.
The inmates will rotate to work for the public works department on around the clock basis, Suchart said.
