DAP is a flexible, small grants programme funded by the Australian government through AusAID and managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The programme focuses on the identification, design and management of smallscale development projects and activities in Thailand.Funding is available on a notforprofit basis to individuals, organisations and community groups engaged in development activities in Thailand – but not for commercial operations.
This year, priority will be given to projects in:
Sustainable development with a focus on improving public health;
Support for education;
Gender equality and women’s empowerment;
Poverty with special attention on the elderly, youth and migrant workers; and
Disaster prevention and recovery.
Applications for projects in other areas are still eligible to apply, but will be given a lower priority when deciding which applications should be funded.
There is no minimum or maximum amount that a single DAP project can receive, although funding for most projects will fall between the Bt100,000 and Bt800,000 range. Projects must be completed by June.
Applications must comply with the ‘Applicant Guidelines 201112 for the Direct Aid Programme’ and must be made using the ‘Project Proposal Form 201112’. Applications for the first round close on in one week – on November 14.
The DAP Guidelines and the DAP Project Proposal Form are available from the Australian Embassy website: www.thailand.embassy.gov.au.
