Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday cancelled plans to attend an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit in Honolulu later this week because of the flood crisis.

“I cancelled my plan to attend the Apec Summit because at this time the Thai people are suffering from the floods and need support. I am obligated to resolve the flood crisis,” Yingluck told reporters today.
Her deputy, Kittiratt Na Ranong will attend the meeting between November 12 and 14 on her behalf, she said.
However, Yingluck said she still plans to attend Asean Summit in Bali, Indonesia from November 17 - 19.
