Digital photos of flood sought for exhibit

The Culture Ministry has invited interested Thai and foreign professional and amateur photographers to submit their digital-format photos of the flooding to be considered for inclusion in the "Nam+Jai 2554" (Water+Empathy 2011) photo exhibition.

The exhibition is aimed at preserving a record of the historic disaster, focusing on the empathy and assistance that people showed one another as it unfolded. It is organised by the ministry, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Ayutthaya province.
The ministry has received photos taken by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to present in the exhibition. All proceeds will be contributed to a fund to restore damaged ancient cultural sites.
The event will run from December 8-30 on the ninth floor of the BACC, and from December 11-15 at Ayutthaya City Hall’s Tourism Centre. The photographs will also be posted at www.bigcamera.co.th/water+empathy2011.
For more information, call (02) 214 6630-8, extension 519 and 520, or visit www.bacc.or.th.
