Rohingya survive ordeal at sea

Thirty-seven Rohingya men emerged alive after four days lost at sea without food yesterday, when they came ashore in Phang Nga's Takua Pa district.

The men, aged 16 to 50, from Burma’s Rakhaing region, were on their way to seek work in Malaysia when their fishing trawler was hit by a storm and sent off course. The boat was not equipped with navigational devices.
The men have been given medical treatment and other assistance and are set to be repatriated.
