Donations from the event will be used partly to support renovations of the arts centre that bears her name in the northern province of Chiang Rai province, her native town. The centre exhibits her works so that the young generation can learn about her dedication to the education and is run by her father, Soon. The centre was damaged by the earthquake earlier this year.
The remainder of the proceeds will be used to construct a statue of Kru Juling.
Before she started teaching, Juling and three friends spent two years drawing and painting at temples and schools in the South. She published a book of the sketches and dedicated it to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Elementary school teacher Juling has left unfinished what she intended to be a masterpiece - a painting of the school she loved.
