EC to send Jatuporn's case to House speaker by middle of this month

The Election Commission will this month ask the House speaker to seek a Constitution Court ruling on qualification of Pheu Thai party-list MP Jatuporn Promphan, EC Chairman Apichart Sukhagganond said Monday.
The EC has decided to disqualify Jatuporn on ground that he did not meet qualification as a member of the Pheu Thai Party, and thus being eligible to become an election candidate.
Apichart said the EC Office is in the process of finalising wordings of the EC’s decision before the case would be submitted to the House speaker for passing on to the Constitution Court.
Apichart said the statement of the EC should be sent back to the EC commissioners to sign this week and it would be submitted to House Speaker Somsak Kiartsuranon by the middle of this month.
