Currently, Na Nake hosts eight shows on terrestrial TV channels. Earlier this week he told his more than 330,000 followers on Twitter via @Na_Nake that after February he’ll be gone from “E-mouth”, “Roo Jing Pa”, “Sabatchor” and “Game Pao Kon”. In March, he’ll disappear from “Priew Pak”. Then, when “Thailand’s Got Talent” finishes its season toward the end of the year, he’ll wind up his on-camera work.
“I have been working in front of the camera for a decade. Before that I spent a decade doing behind-the-scenes work. I’ve decided that I just want to have time to myself and to enjoy the luxury of time like others do, to watch TV and refresh my brain,” he said.
He said that while he’s away, he hopes to create something new for the entertainment industry.
“Just because I love this industry,” he said.
However, Na Nake will continue to make occasional appearances as an emcee and participate in marketing events, along with his radio disc jockey work and writing columns.
He denied that the main reason for his departure from the spotlight was to focus on his new Internet TV business. “My company has been operating for a long time, so that’s not the reason.”
He also dismissed rumours that he is sick. “I’m healthy and I just want to have the luxury of time to develop new ideas. And I don’t know how long I will be away [from hosting shows].”
