This comes as a team of advisers to the prime minister consider asking the mobile Cabinet meeting in Udon Thani for compensation of Bt50,000 per rai for those affected.
Villagers from Nikhom Nam Un, Phang Khon, Phanna Nikhom, Waritchaphum and Kut Bak districts gathered outside the Nikhom Nam Un District Office to call for compensation – an issue that has dragged on for 40 years. Meanwhile party-list MP Surathin Pijarn, part of PM’s Adviser Suchon Chaleekrue’s team, said he would talk to Suchon about the issue and
suggest Cabinet approve immediate compensation of Bt40,000 -Bt50,000 per rai – up from Bt30,000 – at the Cabinet meet in Udon. On hearing this, protesters ended the rally.
