Wall St ends flat

U.S. stocks closed narrowly mixed in a volatile session overnight.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 4.24 points, or 0.03 per cent at 12,878.28.
S&P 500 index fell 1.27 points, or 0.09 per cent to 1,350.50. Of the 10 S&P sectors, materials slumped, while consumer staples gained.
The Nasdaq composite finished up 0.44 points, or 0.02 per cent at 2,931.83.
